AI Built for businesses that keep communities running.

Small businesses work harder than almost anyone. They work with lean teams, tight margins, and no room for waste. And for years, the tools that could have helped them most were simply out of reach. Enterprise firms charged six figures. Freelancers offered fragments. The gap kept growing.

North & James exists to close it. Practical, affordable AI enablement built on accessible tools, delivered by someone who understands how real businesses operate.

“I built North & James because small businesses deserve more than they have been given. America is built on small businesses, and they deserve better.”

ANDREW NUGENT

Founder, North & James

Growing up with a small business owner for a father meant weekends spent on job sites before most kids were out of bed. That upbringing left something behind, a deep respect for what it takes to build something, keep it running, and show up for it every single day.

That foundation turned into a fifteen-year career inside small and family-owned businesses, working at nearly every level an operation has to offer. Starting as a laborer and eventually taking on the role of General Manager, responsible for teams of over 50, the work was always the same at its core: figure out what's slowing things down and fix it. Build systems that hold. Lead people who have real work to do.

Throughout those years, the consistent role was being the person who pushed for better. Better processes, better tools, better ways of doing things that had always been done the same way. That meant navigating resistance, building buy-in, and delivering change that actually lasted inside organizations that weren't always ready for it. Knowing what technology can do is one thing. Getting a real business to adopt it is another skill entirely.

Today that operational background comes together with deep expertise in business development, marketing, and applied AI, brought to bear on the problem that has always mattered most to him: giving small businesses the tools they've earned, at a price they can actually afford.

Because competing shouldn't depend on the size of your budget.
